Updated Safety Message 11-15-18

Dear Ninth Grade Center Parents and Families,

I want to provide you with additional details about the alleged threat we dealt with today. After investigating and talking with several students, we learned the following:

A few students were playing a game during a 6th period class yesterday. Their conversation was overheard and misconstrued by another student. Ultimately, that led to a rumor being circulated about a threat to our campus.

Today’s situation should serve as a reminder to students of the importance of reporting safety concerns to an adult. Sharing rumors with another student often creates fear but does nothing to remedy the situation. Telling an adult or reporting anonymously through our website allows us to begin an immediate investigation.

We take every threat seriously and investigate fully.
